Who are the instructors?

Lon Swartzentruber is the CEO of Design Group International, and brings more than 25 years of process consulting experience to the table. He will facilitate the PCT 101 course, during which participants will work with the Society's unique curriculum supplemented by readings from Humble Consulting by Edgar Schein and Mastering the Complex Sale by Jeffrey Thull.

Mark L. Vincent is the Founder of both Design Group International and Maestro-level leaders, and has played a foundational role in the creation and teaching of courses at the Society for Process Consulting. PCT 201 participants will dive into the Society's curriculum and Mark's recently published book, Listening Helping Learning: The Core Competencies of Process Consulting (participants will receive a free hard copy, or can access the book digitally at no cost with Kindle Unlimited).

Why should I attend?

This is the first time the Society has hosted an in-person, accelerated option for any of its courses! The face-to-face learning time and community-building will be invaluable. Instructors and participants will have the opportunity to mingle outside of the scheduled learning hours, and the small group sizes and in-person format will allow for learning that can be personalized and deepened where needed. (Summit participants will also be given one complimentary year of free Society membership - learn more about the perks of membership here.)

Both PCT 101 and PCT 201 are usually taught through virtual 1-2 hour sessions over the course of 6 weeks, supplemented by asynchronous assignment completion and one-on-one coaching sessions with the instructor. This accelerated experience will contain all of the usual content and result in credentialing upon completion. Click here for more details and for a lesson by lesson breakdown of each course.

If you have been considering taking a course through the Society for Process Consulting but have been unsure about how to work it into your schedule, this single-weekend summit is for you. If you are someone who learns best through immersion and away from a computer screen, this is your opportunity as well! We look forward to seeing you there.

Why Chicago?

We asked several members and did some research on this.  Chicago is centrally located and is consistently voted one of the top meeting places in the U.S.  Our selected hotel also offers free shuttle service to and from the airport, cutting down expenses.

What work is required?

There will be 12 hours of in-person course time and roughly 6 additional hours spent on assignments, a pre-event virtual workshop, and post-event business coaching.

When Will I get my Certificate?

Certificates will be issued on October 31st, after all course assignments and coaching sessions have been completed.

what is included?

  • Friday, October 7th: a private dinner for instructors and participants to meet
  • Saturday, October 8th: breakfast vouchers to Thorn Restaurant, a complimentary lunch, and a complimentary hosted bar
  • Sunday, October 9th: coffee and pastries
  • PCT 201 participants will receive a free copy of Mark L. Vincent's book, Listening Helping Learning
  • Discounted surface parking will be available for participants

What is not included?

Participants will need to pay for their own hotel lodging (using a link provided upon registration), travel expenses, parking, and one evening of dinner (October 8th).

What if i want to send a group?

If you want to send a small group, we welcome that!  We purposely limited the size of this event for highly individualized learning, which has been a hallmark of our training.  If we cannot accommodate your group at this event, we can discuss other arrangements. We have trained groups of 40+ people at a time and would create a different in-person or virtual event for you.

What if I register and can't attend?

We offer a 100% refund until September 2, 2022.  We then offer a 50% refund until September 14th.  Due to the fixed expenses and small venue, we cannot offer any refunds after September 14th. However, if you need to cancel after September 14, 2022 we will offer a $1000 credit toward future Society courses if  you enroll within 12 months of the date of your cancellation.
